Our Vision
The Anna Philips Foundation – Our Vision
Personal freedom and mental wellbeing for a safer world, secured and sustained by compassion, justice and mutual respect.
Our Mission
By drawing on Anna’s life experience, to help and empower people with trauma related mental health challenges find new ways to improve and sustain their wellbeing. We aim to achieve this through facilitating beneficial activities in a safe, natural environment.
Our Values
Compassion
Our work reflects both the virtue and the feeling of compassion. By helping people with trauma related mental health challenges, we take a pro-active approach, with a positive, life affirming view of the human condition. Each person is unique with specific and individual needs. Our compassionate way respects the needs of each individual. It also speaks to an enduring universal wisdom.
Simplicity
It can seem our world and our lives are ever so complex, and require commentary, debate and analysis for a sense of meaning. With simplicity we experience the world about us just as we breathe. To get closer to simplicity we just let go, and learn to detach from the burdens of daily life. Simplicity is to be present, to feel the beauty of nature all around. It is a spiritual virtue. Our present is the pristine verity of eternity.
Justice
Without justice there can be no happiness, no enduring equality, no humanity. Justice is the foundation stone, the true anchor which prevents our human values (our human rights and duties) becoming mere “interests”. As Aristotle observed, “it is often held that justice is the greatest of the virtues, and neither evening nor morning star is such a wonder.” With this value as our cornerstone, combined with compassion and simplicity, each person can secure a greater sense of safety, mental wellbeing and so enduring personal freedom.
